Former Zamalek defender Mahmoud Mahmoud has terminated his contract with Ittihad, only 24 hours after signing, FilGoal.com understands.

The 28-year-old signed a three-year deal with the Alexandrians on Sunday, but backed down on the move one day later because he 'didn’t feel supported by manager Taha Basri'.

Mahmoud spent last season with Telecom Egypt, but has rarely featured for the relegated Cairo side.

Meanwhile, Ittihad are in talks with Zamalek midfielder Osama Hassan and Telecom center-half Mohamed Younes.
