Manuel Jose's scintillating spell with Ahli is over, but the impact he has left will remain for years.

Enjoy FilGoal's selection of the most influential goals that signified Jose's virtues in Cairo throughout two distinctive bouts.

10-Mohamed Abou-Treika vs. Etoile Sahel 3-0

CAF Champions League final 2005

One of several inspirational goals for the classy Abou-Treika, whose 30-yard pile-driver paved the way for an emphatic 3-0 win at Military Academy Stadium. It was Jose's first continental trophy during his second stint with Ahli.

9-Ahmed Hassan vs. Coton Sport 2-2 (4-2 aggregate)

CAF Champions League final 2008

Perhaps Hassan's most notable contribution since he signed for Ahli last summer. A delicate finish by the Egypt captain stunned Coton in Cameroon and made it easier for the Red Devils to claim a record-breaking sixth continental title.

8-Flavio vs. Sfaxien 2-1

African Super Cup 2009

The unstoppable Gilberto-Flavio connection produced a trade-mark header from the latter, who notched his second in a 2-1 victory over the Tunisians.

The significance of this title is that it followed Ahli's shocking campaign in the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup, but Jose's men showed no wavering after their lapse.

7-Osama Hosni vs. Zamalek 4-3

Egyptian Cup final 2007

One of two Egyptian Cup titles for Jose, but this one was snapped up in an extraordinary fashion, courtesy of a dramatic night at Cairo Stadium.

A seven-goal derby thriller saw Ahli take the edge at last, with Hosni the extra-time hero. Even though Abou-Treika's late equalizer deserved credit, it was supersub Hosni who stole the limelight.

Full highlights

6-Khaled Bibo vs. Zamalek 6-1

Egyptian Premier League 2001-2002

Ahli lost the league title to Ismaili in 2001-2002, but the memorable 6-1 drubbing of Zamalek was definitely the highlight of the season in Egypt at the time.

Khaled Bibo hit four goals but his second was arguably the goal of the game after Zamalek pulled one back to make it 3-1. A wonderful solo effort charted the course for Jose's biggest derby win and triggered the infamous Bibo vs. Beshir tale.

Ahli's six goals against Zamalek

5-Sayed Abdul-Hafiz vs. Esperance 1-1

CAF Champions League semi-finals 2001

A superlative strike from almost 45 yards out at Manzah Stadium salvaged a priceless 1-1 draw with the mighty Esperance before the return leg's goalless stalemate.

It was the goal that steered Ahli to the final of the Champions League before Jose's team had eventually clinched the title.

4-Abou-Treika vs. Club America 2-1

Club World Cup 2006

It was the winning goal in a 2-1 win that sealed third place for Ahli in the elite competition. A magnificent exchange of passes with Flavio was followed by a sublime finish from Treika to ensure a historic feat for Jose's side.

The match's goals

3-Khaled Bibo vs. Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0

CAF Champions League final 2001

This is a triple pick featuring Khaled Bibo. The talented forward bagged a sensational hat-trick to hand Jose his maiden title with Ahli in his first stint.

2-Ahmed Fathi vs. Gaish 3-1

Egyptian Premier League 2008-2009

Since he took charge in 2004, Jose led Ahli to four successive league titles facing almost no resistance, but the 2008-2009 triumph was anything but easy.

Fathi's exquisite winner deep into injury time made sure that Ahli are still on course to win a fifth straight title in the final day of the season, after which they beat Ismaili in a playoff.

1-Abou-Treika vs. Sfaxien 1-0

CAF Champions League final 2006

Apart from the quality of the strike, you will hardly find an Ahli fan who wouldn’t agree that this was the most important goal for the club throughout the past decade.

A terrific left-footed volley from the Magician handed Ahli the Champions League title in Rades, but the timing of the goal was overwhelming.
