The 32-year-old Shadi is looking for a new challenge and thus requested to be given a free transfer, ahead of his contract expiry by the end of this year.
"The Ahli board have accepted Shadi Mohamed's request to make a move to a Gulf club," a statement on the club's official site read.
"With respect to Shadi's fidelity and commitment, the player has been released without any conditions or financial compensations."
Shadi joined Ahli from Koroum in 1999 and has progressively become an indispensible member of the Red Devils' backline.
The Egypt international defender won four CAF Champions League titles with ex-coach Manuel Jose, in addition to five league triumphs.
Al-Nahhas released
In the same manner, sweeper Al-Nahhas will be released when his contract expires by the end of June.
The 33-year-old has been struggling with a serious knee injury throughout the past couple of seasons and his career is thought to be on the line.
Al-Nahhas signed from Saudi Arabia's Nasr in 2004, after which he helped Ahli win a host of titles before his devastating injury.
