Zamalek have opened intensive talks with Egyptian businessman Maged Sami, the owner of the Belgian club, over a summer deal for the pacey defender.
The Cairo side have also contacted Samir, and it seems that a return to the White Knights appeals to him, after Lierse failed to secure a promotion to the Belgian Jupiler League last season.
Former Baladeya man Samir had a brief spell at Zamalek, before joining Harras Hodoud where he established himself and received his first Egypt call-up.
In January 2008, he sealed a move to second tier Lierse, and came across as a competent defender in the Belgian second division.
