North Korea secured a 2010 World Cup berth after playing out a goalless draw with Saudi Arabia in the Asian qualifying stage Group B finale on Wednesday.

The Chollima finished in second place on 12 points, while Saudi Arabia lie third with as many points.

The Koreans reached the gigantic competition because they defeated Saudi Arabia 2-0 in the first leg.

North Korea have previously qualified for the World Cup only once in the 1966 edition, and made it to the quarter-finals at the time.

Now Saudi Arabia will face Bahrin, who lie third in Group A, in two decisive games, and the winners will face the Oceanus champions.
