Real Madrid midfielder Wesley Sneijder stressed that he has no plans of leaving Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

It has been rumoured that the Dutch international is one of nine players the Spanish giants will offload in the awake of Florentino Perez's re-election as chairman.

"I do not have any intentions to leave Real Madrid," the former Ajax player told AS.

"Nobody has contacted me to tell me anything about leaving and what I want is to remain at Madrid. They paid a lot of money for me and I want to succeed with this club."

Perez already brought in Kaka from AC Milan and reached an agreement to buy Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

Sneijder's name was mentioned in possible exchange deals as Real are still trying to sign Bayern Munich's Franck Ribery and Douglas Maicon from Inter.

Nonetheless, Sneijder doesn’t believe that big-name signings will hinder his progress with Los Merengues.

"To play along alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka or Franck Ribery is an honour for any footballer," he beamed.

"I am not afraid of the competition. I only want to be a player who can help Madrid return to their rightful place in football."
