The Pharaohs raised many eyebrows by beating world champions Italy 1-0 after narrowly losing 4-3 to Brazil in the dying moments of their opening game.
Abou-Treika is convinced that the special bond between the Egypt players is one of the main reasons behind their good results.
"We are not just a collection of very good individuals, but we are one... one team," the 30-year-old told FIFA's official website.
"The players we do have are the best in Egypt and the sense of unity in this team is something special, something rare in international football."
Hassan Shehata's men have the chance to reach the Confederations Cup semis if they beat USA and Italy's result against Brazil go their way.
"The USA game is decisive for us. What we did before won't matter if we don't play well against the US. If we want to be in the semi-finals we must focus."
