AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi stated that Andrea Pirlo could leave San Siro in the close season.
The Italy midfielder previously revealed his intention of sealing a move to Chelsea after the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup.
Berlusconi, who earlier wanted to hold onto Pirlo for another season, said that a summer deal for the 30-year-old might go through.
"We'll see what happens. I was the first to say that Pirlo has to stay, but then they made me look at the accounts," Berlusconi said.
Few days ago, Pirlo announced that he would like to work again with Carlo Ancelotti, who has recently taken charge of Chelsea after ending his contract with Milan by mutual consent.
The former Inter Milan schemer, who played over 200 games for the Rossoneri, has won a host of local and continental titles with Milan since 2001.
