Blackburn Rovers have renewed their interest in ENPPI wide man Ahmed Al-Muhammadi, after the skillful midfielder has shown glimpses of his talent with Egypt in the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup.

Back in January, the Premier League club first revealed their intention of landing Al-Muhammadi, who underwent a trial with the Riversiders at the time and impressed then manager Paul Ince.

However, the deal fell through shortly after Ince's departure from Ewood Park.

From their side, ENPPI welcomed Blackburn's new approach, and yet, they refused their request to hand Al-Muhammadi a second trial.

"Blackburn have opened fresh talks to purchase Al-Muhammadi this summer," ENPPI football director Alaa Abdul-Sadek told FilGoal.com.

"We won't mind letting him go if he receives an official bid, but ENPPI's board refused to allow him to travel for a second trial.

"Blackburn want him to undergo a five-day trial, but the boardroom turned them down as Al-Muhammadi was tested at the same club before; a second trial would be pointless I believe.

"If they want to sign him, they have to come up with a solid offer."

Impressive Performance

Right winger Al-Muhammadi, 22, featured for Egypt in a couple of matches in the Confederations Cup.

He made his first appearance in the global competition during the Pharaohs' 4-3 loss to Brazil, when he was introduced as a second-half substitute.

His performance was impressive, nonetheless, his night was ruined when received a straight red card for deliberately clearing the ball off the goal line with his elbow.

He missed Egypt's historic 1-0 win over Italy through automatic suspension, and was given a starting berth against USA, but he wasn't anywhere near his best.
