Brazil playmaker Kaka has won the Golden Ball award for the FIFA Confederations Cup best player.

The Real Madrid newly-signed man scored two goals in the eight-team tournament, including a last-gasp winner against Egypt in the group stage, to help Brazil retain the trophy.

He also made two assists as the five-time world champions claimed their third Confederations Cup title.

Kaka's compatriot Luis Fabiano, who finished as the tournament's top scorer with five goals, won the Silver Ball award while United States forward Clint Dempsey was given the Bronze Ball.

Tim Howard of the US was named the best keeper after putting in impressive displays as his country finished as runners up.
