Some 50,000 Real fans turned up to see the former AC Milan man wearing Los Merengues shirt in the presence of club president Florentino Perez.

Contrary to earlier reports suggesting that he will wear the number five (previously worn by Zinedine Zidane), Kaka was given the number eight kit.

The 27-year-old cost Real 67 million Euros and was Perez's first big signing during the off-season, before the club brought Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
