Materazzi extends Inter contract

A statement on Inter's official site stated that the 35-year-old center-half has signed a two-year extension to his contract, which was due to run out next summer.

"I cannot go on holiday any more satisfied. I've extended my contract till 2012 and therefore till the end of my career,'' said the Italian international.

"It was something I always wanted.''

Materazzi's extension comes despite the fact that he played less than half the Nerazzurri's games last season.
