For the first time since leaving Ahli, ex-Red Devils skipper Shadi Mohamed has publicly spoken of the fall out he had with his former coach Manuel Jose.

The Egyptian international defender was forced to leave the Cairo giants after his relation with Jose deteriorated by the end of last season.

"Despite being the team's captain for four seasons, Jose harshly insulted me more than once in front of all Ahli players," Shadi told Al-Hayat TV.

"Jose told me that I had no significant role with the team despite the fact that I did my best to help them win many trophies over the last eleven years."

Shadi, who recently joined Ittihad, added that rather than share success with the players, the Portuguese coach always claimed all the credit for Ahli's victories.

"Jose told us that Ahli will not win anything after his departure. He even said that he will watch the whole team collapse after his reign ends," Mohamed added.

"But I know that Ahli will be as good as they always were. Jose wasn’t working alone here; he was aided by very good players, a professional board and great Ahli fans."

No Farewell

The 31-year-old year-old said that his ties with Jose hit rock bottom when the coach didn’t invite him among the rest of the players for his farewell.

"I was the one who came to Jose's defence after the Club World Cup loss last year and on many other occasions.

"I still don’t understand why he singled me out from attending his farewell. It's not bothering me though. It's not like he was going to bless me before he left," Shadi concluded.
