Chelsea announced that they will not be discussing any deals regarding the sale of defender John Terry to Manchester City.

The Citizens, who failed to bring Terry to the City of Manchester last season, saw another bid for the England man rejected by the Chelsea board.

"We can confirm we have completely rejected an offer from Manchester City for John Terry," read a statement on the Blues' official website.

"It was made clear to City, for a second time following an approach last season, that we would not entertain any conversation on the subject.

According to The Sun, City were prepared to offer Terry a weekly salary of £300 thousand, double what the 28-year-old is currently making at Stamford Bridge.

In the meantime, Chelsea have finalised the signing of ex-City striker Daniel Sturridge.

The 19-year-old was out of contract at Manchester, but because he's less than 24 years old, Chelsea will have to pay City a compensation for the player's services.

Sky Sports stated that the fee, which will be determined by a tribunal could be around £5million.
