The Court of Arbitration (CAS) for Sport has frozen FIFA's four-month ban against Essam Al-Hadari, following the Egypt goalkeeper's appeal.

"The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has granted the stay of the execution of the FIFA decision of 16 April 2009 requested by the Egyptian goalkeeper Essam El-Hadari and by FC Sion," a CAS statement read.

FIFA imposed the sanction along with a joint fine on Al-Hadari and Sion, after the goalie's infamous transfer from Ahli to the Swiss side.

After concluding further procedures, CAS said a final decision regarding the case will be announced in approximately four months.

This means that Al-Hadari will be free to represent Egypt in the upcoming three World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda, Zambia and Algeria.
