Nasr midfielder Hossam Ghaly admitted that he wasn't at his best last term, saying he will do everything in his power to redeem himself next season.

The 27-year-old was recently linked with a summer move to Egyptian champions Ahli, but Nasr president Faisal Bin Turk announced that he would stay within the Saudi side's ranks for another season.

Ghaly is now eager to repay the faith of Nasr's board by reaching peak form and making a tangible impact with his team.

"I want this season to be different for me, it should mark my real start with Nasr," the former Tottenham Hotspur man was quoted as saying by Saudi paper Al-Ektesadia.

"My objective is to live up to the expectations and put in better performances than last season.

"I'm not happy with my output with Nasr over the past months, but I'm optimistic about my chances of improving myself."
