Celtic manager Tony Mowbray is relishing the prospect of facing Egyptian and African champions Ahli in Friday's Wembley Cup game.

The Scottish giants will meet Ahli in the opening game of the inaugural friendly tournament as both sides warm up for the new season.

"It is a great test," Mowbray, who replaced Gordon Strachan as Celtic's boss last month, was quoted as saying by American Chronicle.

"Ahli don't get much coverage over here but are champions of Egypt and Africa, their Champions League, and will be strong."

The tournament also includes Spanish and European champions Barcelona and English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur.

Ahli will also face Barca next Sunday, in a repeat of the 2007 friendly game which ended 4-0 for the Catalans in Cairo.

The Red Devils take on Harras Hodoud in the Super Cup on Tuesday before flying to England to take part in the Wembley Cup.
