Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp said that he still hopes to sign Real Madrid striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutch international was on the verge of joining Stuttgart after Real agreed a fee with the Bundesliga club. Huntelaar's agent similarly accepted their offered salary.

However, Huntelaar backtracked on the deal, as he is keen on joining a bigger club.

"My interest in Huntelaar is serious," Redknapp was quoted as saying by The Daily Mail.

"We've spoken to Real Madrid and the fee is somewhere between £15m-£17m."

Milan Interest

Meanwhile, Stuttgart's failure to land Huntelaar caught the eyes of AC Milan, who are looking to enforce their front line.

"If we find the chance to invest, Huntelaar is a player we would consider," Milan coach Leonardo said.

The Rossoneri initially wanted to capture Bosnian hitman Edin Dzeko from Wolfsburg, but the Bundesliga champions refused to allow the latter leave.

Milan were also not successful in reaching a deal over the price of Sevilla Brazilian striker Luis Faiano.
