Ahli's injured duo Mohamed Barakat and Ahmed Belal will remain sidelined when the league holders kick off the new season against Ghazl Mahalla at the weekend.

Influential midfielder Barakat is struggling with a hernia problem sustained at the end of last season.

According to Ahli's official site, the 31-year-old is due to resume full training after the Mahalla game on Thursday.

Belal, on the other hand, aggravated a groin injury in pre-season and is expected to be back in two weeks time.

Yasser's Rayan bid

Meanwhile, Ahli said that an official offer from Qatari side Al-Rayan has been received for striker Hussein Yasser.

Ahli marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi, who confirmed the offer, indicated that the Qatar striker's desire will be crucial in the matter.

"We are waiting for Yasser to arrive from Belgium (where his family lives) to ask him about the offer from Qatar," Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com.

"His wish will be decisive, if he wants to go he can go."

Rayan were keen to loan Yasser last season, but Ahli rejected the offer for no apparent reason.

The Egyptian-born Qatari was poised to leave this summer after he failed to impress in his first season in Cairo, following a move from Boavista in May 2008.
