Strike duo Mido and Amr Zaki were named in Zamalek's preliminary squad for their Egyptian Premier League opener against ENPPI on Friday.

Both players were deemed fit to take part in the game, the Cairo giants said on their official website.

Mido joined his boyhood club Zamalek on a season-long loan from Middlesbrough.

Zaki, who sought to continue his European adventure after spending last season on loan at Wigan Athletic, will probably stay at Zamalek.

However, his agent Nader Shawki still hopes that his client can resurrect his career in the English Premier League.

"We have until the end of August. Zaki can still join an English club," he told Al-Hayat TV on Wednesday.

The Bulldozer has been linked with a move to Portsmouth, who are the subject of takeover bid by UAE businessman Sulaiman Al Fahim.

Midfielder Hassan Mostafa will have a chance to make his competitive debut with Zamalek debut against ENPPI after being included in the squad.

Ghanaian midfielder Ibrahim Ayew and Ivorian Marcel Adiko, who both joined Zamalek in the close season, will miss out on the game because they are not 100% fit, FilGoal.com learned.
