Egypt opened their campaign in the Handball's Junior World Championship with an easy 25-19 win over Iceland in Cairo.

The hosts paved their way to victory in the first 13 minutes as they had an 8-0 advantage thanks to a string of great saves from keeper Karim Hendawi.

Right-back Mohamed Alaa scored a bunch of goals, and was Egypt's best player through out the game.

Egypt kept at least a five-goal margin during the second period and sealed the victory with a last-gasp effort from Alaa.

Manager Asem Al-Saadani was satisfied with the triumph but insisted that his players should keep their feet on the ground.

"It's still the opener, we need to focus because the rest of the tournament will be harder," Al-Saadani told Nile Sport following the game.

"We need the supporters to be behind the team when we face Argentina in the next game."
