The Egyptian FA gave Gouna the green light to hold their home games at their own stadium in Hurghada.

The venue has become suitable to host Gouna matches after the Egyptian Premier League newcomers expanded its capacity to 15,000, the EFA general secretary Salah Hosni said.

"The interior ministry approved the stadium's new capacity," he told FilGoal.com on Sunday.

The majority of the Egyptian company-owned clubs find it difficult to play in their own stadiums as the interior ministry, which is responsible for security in league games, voice reservations over their small capacity.

Gouna's first game at home will be against another newly-promoted side in Mansoura, who were infuriated by the 'sudden' switch of the match's venue.

"Regulations state that the FA should inform us with such a change 72 hours before the game," the club's president Ibrahim Megahed told Al-Hayat TV.

"We are not prepared to travel to Hurghada and play there."
