Nebojsa Vuckovic's tenure in charge of Ismaili lasted for just two matches after the club sacked him on Saturday for refusing to switch the team's 4-4-2 formation.

"The club reached an agreement with Vuckovic to terminate his deal," Ismaili said in a statement on their official website.

"Youth team coach Emad Soliman has been appointed as the new boss."

Last season's runners-up Ismaili stumbled in their first two Egyptian Premier League games under Serbian coach Vuckovic, drawing 2-2 with promoted Mansoura and losing 3-2 to ENPPI.

The new formation, which is unfamiliar to the majority of Egyptian teams, drew widespread criticism after the Dervishes committed numerous defensive mistakes.

But Vuckovic insisted he would still deploy it in the upcoming games, a decision that did not go down well with chairman Nasr Aboul-Hassan.

"The coach stood firm on his stance so we felt he could no longer remain at the helm," Aboul-Hassan told FilGoal.com.

The 60-year-old tactician took over at Ismaili in the summer following the resignation of Brazilian Ricardo at the end of last season.
