Egypt midfielder Hossam Ghaly was included in Nasr's starting eleven, and put in a satisfying display during the first half.
Ghaly could have scored an early opener after nine minutes, but his header went high over.
He also set up his teammate Rayan Belal, who scored a goal that was disallowed for offside.
Former Tottenham Hotspur player Ghaly made way for Mohamed Al-Sahlawi on 51 minutes.
Eight minutes from the break home side Ettifaq took the lead, thanks to a Hussein Abdul-Ghani own goal.
However, the veteran defender made amends on 71 minutes and brought the score level after unleashing an unstoppable left-footed shot from outside the area.
The match marked Abdul-Ghani's competitive debut with Nasr. He moved to the Saudi club from Switzerland's Neuchatel Xamax in the close season.
