"Buecker initially agreed on Ittihad's offer, but he needs more time to make his final decision," agent Ahmed Abbas told FilGoal.com.
"He ought to receive another bid from Ahli of Libya, and he could change his mind if the awaited offer was more financially rewarding."
FilGoal.com has learnt that Buecker agreed to take charge of Ittihad for a €20,000 monthly salary, after fitness instructor Sami Nasr talked him into accepting the deal.
Basri was recently fired as Ittihad head coach, following the coastal side's poor results in the Egyptian Premier League this season.
However, the club's board considered reinstating him on a temporary basis, after their attempts to hire Helmi Toulan doomed to failure.
Eventually they appointed Karam Morsi as interim boss.
Buecker has managed Zamalek and Ismaili among other clubs throughout his coaching career.
