Bayern Munich are not interested in signing Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from Schalke, according to sporting director Christian Nerlinger.

Bayern Munich are not interested in signing Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer from Schalke, according to sporting director Christian Nerlinger.

"Manuel Neuer is not on our wish list," former Bayern midfielder Nerlinger told Ruhr Nachrichten.

"Even this winter, we will not be making any attempt to sign him."

Bayern are believed to be in search for a goalkeeper as new coach Louis van Gaal seems to be unconvinced with the abilities of Michael Rensing.

Van Gaal has been relying on 35-year-old keeper Hans-Jorg Butt in the team's recent matches.
