Bayern skipper set for return

Van Bommel, who sustained a foot injury against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga opener, resumed full training for the first time and could be fit to face Freiburg on October 17th.

"I’m delighted I’m finally back on the training ground with my team-mates," the 32-year-old told Bayern's official site.

"It’s taken a long, long time, so I’m even more pleased the healing process has gone so well and that I’m back out on the pitch again at last."
