Ghana duo in the running for Golden Ball award

Ghana duo Dominic Adiyiah and Ransford Osei are in the running for the U-20 World Cup Golden Ball award.

Ghana duo Dominic Adiyiah and Ransford Osei are in the running for the U-20 World Cup Golden Ball award.

World governing body FIFA have announced on Wednseday a 10-man shortlist for the prestigious award.

Adiyiah has played a pivotal role in helping Ghana set up a meeting with Brazil in the World Cup final, which will take place at Cairo Stadium on Friday.

The 20-year-old, who plays for Norwegian side Fredrikstad FK, is the tournament's top scorer with eight goals. His teammate Osei also put in some fine displays, notching four goals as Ghana chase their first U-20 World Cup title.

UAE midfielder Amer Abdulrahman was also included in the list, as was Brazil captain and playmaker Giuliano.

The accredited media members will nominate the top three players, FIFA added.
