Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz insists that he will recall winger Cristiano Ronaldo for this month's World Cup playoff matches with Bosnia despite his injury.

Real Madrid have announced on Friday that the 24-year-old would need two more weeks on the sidelines in order to fully recuperate from his ankle problem.

However, Queiroz, a former Real coach, says that he's going to name Ronaldo in the squad for Portugal's upcoming qualifiers, as the former Manchester United superstar might recover earlier than expected.

"I'm going to call Cristiano Ronaldo (to the squad) and I hope he can help us, if only for a few minutes," he was quoted as saying by Marca.

Queiroz believes the talented winger could reach full recovery while on international duty.

"Let's see how it goes, but we believe that he can still make his recovery with us and thus have time to play in Zenica," he added.
