Samuel Eto'o prevented Inter Milan from suffering their second Serie A defeat this season, his goal earning the defending champions a 1-1 draw at home to AS Roma on Sunday.

Roma, who are struggling at the wrong end of the table, took the lead after 13 minutes after some poor marking from Lucio.

The Brazilian defender let Montenegro striker Mirko Vucinic beat him to a cross to send a looping header past Inter keeper Julio Cesar.

Cameroon striker Eto'o secured a share of spoils three minutes after the restart when he controlled a Thiago Motta pass, spun around and drilled a low shot into the bottom corner from inside the area.

Inter failed to maintain a seven-point lead over second-placed Juventus, who thrashed Atalanta 5-2 on Saturday. The Nerazzurri have 29 points from 12 games, five ahead of Juventus.
