Former Ahli coach Manuel Jose said Egypt should be ready to cope with Sudan's humidity when they face Algeria on Wednesday in a playoff for a place at next year's World Cup finals.

"Egypt have a better chance now but they have to be cautious," the Portuguese coach told Nile Sports following the Pharaohs' precious 2-0 home win over Algeria on Saturday.

"They should know how to deal with the high temperature and humidity in Sudan."

Egypt, who finished level with Algeria at the top of Group C in the World Cup qualifiers, chose Sudan to stage the decider as they expect their neighbors to enthusiastically support them.

Algeria wanted the game to take place in Tunisia but a draw by world governing body FIFA favored Sudan.

The crucial encounter will be held at Al-Merreikh Stadium's in Omdurman, which can host up to 40,000 spectators.

"Egypt should also be cautious because the pitch is not so good," Jose, widely regarded as the best coach in Ahli's history after guiding them to a host of local and continental titles before leaving to take over at Angola, added.

Six-time African champions Egypt are bidding to reach the World Cup for the first time since 1990.
