Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov says he's ready to get back in action after shaking off a minor knee injury.

The Bulgaria ace missed the Red Devils' last couple of matches after suffering a knock to his knee in his side's 2-0 victory over Blackburn Rovers at Old Trafford late in October.

Berbatov took no part in United's 3-3 draw with CSKA Moscow in the UEFA Champions League, and 1-0 defeat to Premiership leaders Chelsea.

But now the former Tottenham Hotspur star seems to be in line to end his layoff by participating in his country's friendly match with Malta on Wednesday

"I received a kick in my knee during the Blackburn match and I needed some rest and some treatment," Berbatov told reporters.

"But I'm okay now and I'll play in Malta."

Berbatov is eager to equal Hristo Bonev's record of 47 goals for Bulgaria when he features against Malta.

"I'm thinking about it (the record), of course. I've scored many goals so far and I hope that with the help of my team-mates I'll do it," he added.
