Ahli manager Hossam Al-Badri said he is happy with the performance of his stand-in players in the 2-0 victory over Arab Contractors.

The title holders played without Mohamed Abou-Treika, Emad Meteb and Moetazbellah Mohamed "Eno" because of injury.

Ahmed Fathi also was serving an automatic one-match suspension.

Al-Badri gave Gilberto, Mohamed Fadl and Abdullah Farouk rare starts and they rewarded him with eighth victory of the season.

"The performance is usually affected when missing so many players," Al-Badri told the club's official website.

"But the players were very good and could fill the void and keep the winning run."

Ahli top the league table with 26 points, six ahead of Petrojet.
