Harras Hodoud's too many problems with suspensions prompted coach Tarek Al-Ashri to impose heavier sanctions against the players who pick up unnecessary cards.

The stuttering military club will have to do without influential duo Ahmed Eid and Mohamed Al-Herda when they face Zamalek on Thursday due to suspension.

The absentees will do them no favor as they seek to return to winning ways after suffering two successive defeats to Arab Contractors and Alexandria neighbors Ittihad.

"This problem still haunts us. Every match we play without one or two important players," Al-Ashri told FilGoal.com on Wednesday.

"The players who get suspended because of unnecessary yellow and red cards will be heavily fined.

"For example, some players are booked for needless off-the-ball challenges and for protesting against the referee's decisions."

Hodoud are yet to replicate the form that saw them win the Egyptian Cup last season for their first ever trophy.

They lie eighth in the 16-team league table with 12 points from 10 games.
