An Egyptian FA official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, is convinced that a harsh punishment should have been imposed on the Egypt international for his 'outrageous gestures'.
"The match's referee Samir Osman mentioned in his match report that Eid made outrageous gestures," he told FilGoal.com.
"Serving a one-match suspension was definitely not enough for what he did. It was a lenient sanction."
After missing Hodoud's 1-0 loss to Ittihad through automatic suspension, Eid played the whole 90 minutes against Zamalek on Thursday.
He opened the scoring right after the break to help his side beat the White Knights 2-1 in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday.
Later on, Zamalek lodged a complaint to the Egyptian FA, calling for a replay with Hodoud because Eid was 'suspended and not eligible to play'.
