Ittihad midfielder Mahmoud Sobhi said on Thursday he has handed in a transfer request due to lack of regular first-team football.

"(Brazilian) coach Carlos Cabral does not want me here," Sobhi told FilGoal.com.

The 30-year-old used to play regularly under former Ittihad coach Taha Basri but fell out of favor with new tactician Cabral, under home the Alexandria-based club notably improved.

He is now seeking to move to another Premier League club when the transfer window reopens in January.

"Ghazl Mahalla and Gaish are interested in signing me," Sobhi, who joined Ittihad from Mahalla in the summer of 2007, added.
