The Egyptian FA have decided to appoint Hani Ramzy as the Olympic team coach, following a meeting on Monday.

Ramzy is handed the task of leading the team through the qualifiers of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

The former Egypt defender has been assisting Czech manager Miroslav Soukup in the recent U-20 World Cup, which saw the young Pharaohs get eliminated from the last 16.

Egypt's last participation in the Olympic Games came in 1992, when they failed to go beyond the group stage in Barcelona.
