The Pharaohs were struggling for fluency the whole 90 points, however; their opponents posed no challenge.
FilGoal.com assessed Egypt's players on a scale of 1 to 10.
Essam Al-Hadari (7,5): The 37-year-old wasn't quite tested. Throughout the game he blocked a couple of long-range shots or so.
Ahmed Fathi (8,5): The Ahli man deserved to be named man of the match. He put in an assured performance but his crosses were imprecise, but one of them resulted in the first goal when Dario Khan diverted it into his own net.
Hani Saied (5): He wasn't influential at the back and his presence wasn't felt most of the time.
Wael Gomaa (7,5): As usual the combative defender was instrumental in keeping opposition strikers at bay.
Mahmoud Fathallah (5): The Zamalek man was off-form. He was no obstacle for Mozambique's front-men.
Sayed Moawad (6,5): The left-winger supported Egypt's attack but the team’s disorganization made him less effective.
Hosni Abd-Rabou (4): The Ahli Dubai midfielder was nowhere near his best. His passes were far from accurate and he failed to fulfill any of his duties as a holding midfielder.
Ahmed Hassan (7): The Egypt skipper made quite a few blunders but exerted huge efforts to help his side to the victory.
Shikabala (5): Flamboyant playmaker Shikabala failed to deliverer the goods. He couldn't feed the strikers till he was taken off in the second half.
Emad Meteb (6): The Ahli man was static and lacked cutting-edge. He had several scoring chances but failed to convert any of them.
Mohamed Zidan (6): He was notably tensioned which affected his performance. He was infuriated when he was substituted in the second half.
Substitutes:
Ahmed Al-Muhammadi (6,5): The right winger came in instead of Saied. He wasn't great but energetic.
Ahmed Eid (6): Zidan made way for Eid but his introduction didn't beef up the Egyptian frontline.
Mohamed Nagi 'Geddo' (8): The Ittihad star replaced Shikalbala to double Egypt's lead with a magnificent goal. He also scored for the national side in the previous two games.
