"We are pleased to confirm the loan signing of Amr Zaki from Zamalek FC," a Hull statement read.

"The player yesterday signed a loan agreement until the end of the season to join Hull City AFC."

Zamalek said on Sunday that a six-month loan deal worth £600,000 plus clauses has been agreed with the Tigers, but chairman Adam Pearson conceded later that Zaki has yet to put pen on paper.

But the move is now only subject to a UK work permit for the 26-year-old, who is expected to return to England on Friday.

The Premiership strugglers are hoping to have Zaki available for their bottom-of-the-table clash with Wolves on January 30th.
