AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani rubbished reports saying that Brazilian playmaker Kaka, who they sold to Real Madrid last summer, is suffering from a chronic injury.

The 2007 World Player of the Year is yet to live up to expectations after joining Spanish giants Real in the close season.

Recent reports suggested that Milan sold him to Real despite knowing that he suffers from persistent injury problems.

"It's absurd. Last season Kaka played 31 games in the Italian league and was a virtual ever-present," Galliani was quoted as saying by Italian media.

"I don't like the suggestion that we gave Real Madrid an injured player."

Kaka, 27, scored three league goals for Real, who are five points adrift of leaders and arch-rivals Barcelona.
