Ismaili will not sack beleaguered coach Emad Soliman despite the team's disappointing run of late, chairman Nasr Aboul-Hassan said on Tuesday.

The Dervishes slipped to third in the Egyptian Premier League table after losing 3-1 to Petrojet, who leapfrogged them into second, before throwing away their lead to draw 1-1 at Arab Contractors.

The last season's runners-up are now seven points adrift of leaders and bitter rivals Ahli.

"We do not intend to replace Soliman. We will also keep hold of his assistants," Aboul-Hassan told FilGoal.com.

"There are some fans who want us to sack Soliman but it is not an easy decision.

"Yes the technical staff did some mistakes but we should trust them, especially ahead of our important Champions League game against (Kenyan side) Sofapaka."

Ismaili host Sofapaka on Saturday in the second leg of their Champions League preliminary round, having settled for a goalless draw in Kenya in the first leg.

Soliman took over at Ismaili in August last year following the sacking of Serbian coach Nebojsa Vuckovic, who was shown the door after the team's first two league games.
