Ghazl Mahalla boss Mohamed Radwan called off his team's training session after some hooligans got onto the pitch to attack players and coaching staff members.

The Egyptian Premier League minnows were holding their first session after the winter break behind closed doors on Saturday.

However, some fans expressed their frustration over Mahalla's poor results of late by disrupting the training.

The hotheads picked fights with skipper Mohamed Al-Etrawi and deputy keeper Sameh Ali, while head coach Radwan was cursed.

The security forces eventually stepped in to contain the situation.

Mahalla slumped to three successive losses to Masri, Asyut Petroleum and Mansoura to move back to 12th place on 21 points in the league table, three clear of the relegation zone.

Radwan and his assistants should decide soon whether or not to stay at Mahalla.
