Lowly Gunners, champions of Zimbabwe, are unfazed by Ahli's experience prior to their clash in the African Champions League, according to skipper Trymore Mtisi.

"We are ready for any team in the first round of the competition," Mtisi was quoted as saying by Zimbabwean media.

"As Gunners, we are ready for Ahli. I think we just have to do our best in the coming games," he said.

Gunners are debuting in the African premier club competition after winning their first local title in history last season.

They reached the round of the 32 after beating FC Mafunzo of Zanzibar 6-1 on aggregate in the preliminaries.

Mtisi was on the sidelines during his side's 4-0 home victory in the second-leg due to injury.

"It was disappointing to watch from the sidelines but I am happy that we won. I think Mafunzo played better in the first leg than they did here at Rufaro," he said.

The first leg between Ahli and Gunners will be played later in March while the second game is scheduled for the first week in April.
