Bayer Leverkusen guardian Rene Adler is set to be named as Germany's first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

The 25-year-old will be given the nod in Wednesday's crunch friendly with Argentina and it seems he will remain between the posts in South Africa.

"Rene is No. 1 at the moment … he has it in his own hands whether he is the No. 1 at the World Cup," Germany goalkeeping coach Andreas Koepke said.

Adler has been tipped to become Joachim Loew's number one, following the tragic suicide of former custodian Robert Enke in November 2009.
