The FIFA ranking of national teams for the month of February placed Egypt in 17th place, despite not playing any matches since January.

After breaking into FIFA's top ten nations last month, the African champions dropped seven places as Greece overtook 10th place.

However, Egypt maintained their continental supremacy ahead of World Cup finalists Cameroon (20), Nigeria (21) and Ivory Coast (22).

Spain remained in charge of the table as Brazil, Holland and Italy are still in pursuit the European champions.

When no matches are played during the month, the FIFA ranking is influenced by the positions of nations in the previous eight years.
