Ibrahim Ayew is probably pondering leaving Zamalek after he was left out of the Cairo side’s squad for their postponed league game with Petrojet on Sunday.

The Ghanaian midfielder will be seeking to move away from the White Knights should he remain on the sidelines, agent Abu Kone stated last month.

Ayew has not featured for Zamalek since reporting back from international duty in Angola, where Ghana finished as runners up to champions Egypt in the African Cup of Nations.

He’s understood to be targeted by an unnamed English club.

Ayew was deployed as an attacking midfielder, defensive midfielder and right-back in his few appearances with Zamalek.

On the other hand, substitute goalie Mohamed Abdul-Monsef has been ruled out of Zamalek’s trip due to injury.

Right back Hazem Emam has asked for permission to miss the game in order to take care of 'personal issues'.

Sayed Mosaad and Remi Adiko were omitted from the 21-man list for technical reasons, Mohamed Abdul-Shafi through automatic suspension.

Zamalek lie in the league table fifth spot with 30 points, while Petrojet are second on 35.

Zamalek's squad:

Goalkeepers: Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed – Emad Al-Sayed.

Defenders: Mahmoud Fathallah – Ahmed Magdi – Amr Al-Safti – Amr Adel – Ahmed Ghanem Sultan – Sabri Rahil.

Midfielders: Ahmed Al-Merghani – Hani Saied – Ahmed Abdul-Raouf – Ibrahim Salah – Alaa Ali – Mohamed Ibrahim – Hassan Mostafa – Shikabala – Omar Gabr.

Strikers: Hussein Yasser – Hossam Arafat – Sherif Ashraf – Ahmed Gafaar.
