Egypt striker Emad Meteb said it is impossible for him to play for Zamalek in the wake of the recent claims from the Whites.

Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan said on Saturday that Meteb is on the radar of Ahli's arch-rivals, claiming that the 26-year-old is ready to make the earth-shattering move after his contract expires in June.

However, Meteb was quick to deny the allegations, reiterating his ambition to play in Europe.

"I respect Zamalek and I have a fine relationship with Hossam and Ibrahim Hassan, but it is impossible for me to join them," Meteb told Modern Sport TV.

"I was brought up within this club and it is impossible for me to play for any club in Egypt other than Ahli.

"If I wasn’t able to move to Europe by the end of the season, I will certainly renew my contract with Ahli."

Meteb claimed earlier that he is on the shortlist of Genoa, Fulham and Kayserispor, where plays Egypt midfielder Mohamed Shawky.
