Inter Milan chief Massimo Moratti thinks that the Italian champions were distracted by their upcoming UEFA Champions League meeting with Chelsea while facing Genoa.

The Nerazzurri drew with lowly Genoa 0-0 at Giuseppe Meazza in a dull Serie A game on Saturday.

"I don't believe that the team had the match with Chelsea in their heads, seeing that it's 10 days away," Moratti said.

"But I do believe that more than anything Inter faced the game with less character than usual.

"We didn't start with the right backbone, the right character. At times it doesn't come.

"It was like that in the first half. Then in the second it went well but one half is not enough to win a game."

Inter are still on top of the league table with 59 points.
