Mido's West Ham succumbed to a crucial 3-1 home defeat to relegation rivals Wolves, in a match that witnessed no signs of the Egypt striker.

Goals from Kevin Doyle, Ronald Zubar and Matthew Jarvis downed Gianfranco Zola's team at Boleyn Ground, while Guillermo Franco's late strike was only a consolation.

On-loan forward Mido, who started the last couple of games, didn’t play a single minute as Zola opted for Carlton Cole and Benni McCarthy upfront, before introducing Franco.

West Ham's fifth straight defeat leaves them in 17th place of the Premiership table, three points ahead of Burnley and Hull City, who have a game in hand.

The Hammers host Stoke City at the weekend as pressure mounts on manager Zola, whose job is reportedly unsafe.
