Franck Ribery ended speculation regarding his future by signing a five-year contract extension with Bayern Munich, the club announced on Sunday.

The French winger's new deal will keep him at Allianz Arena until 2015.

"We're delighted we've reached agreement on a contract extension with one of the world's best players," Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on the club's official website.

"This is another signal of Bayern's ambitious targets for the coming years."

Ribery has been linked with a host of clubs, including Spanish giants Real Madrid, over the past few years.

He has been a key player for Bayern since joining in the summer of 2007 from French side Marseille.

The 27-year-old helped Bayern win the domestic double this season despite controversy over his personal life.

He was suspended for the Bavarians' 2-0 defeat by Inter Milan in the Champions League final on Saturday.
